Halloween

Maggie decided she wanted to be a baby for Halloween this year.  She was a pretty cute baby, too!  She had a great day at our school Halloween Parade, her class party, and then trick-or-treating with Nana and I up in Nana and Papa's neighborhood.  She took in loads of candy and was quite pleased.  She even told us when she was done and had enough candy!  Here are a couple pictures of baby Maggie:

Maggie with Ms. Jodi, one of her absolute favorite people at school!  These 2 started a bond in kindergarten!

Swim Team

Gerri, Maggie's swim teacher, and I decided it was time to move Maggie up to JV swim team.  She is totally capable of everything Gerri asks her, it's just a matter of whether or not Maggie's stubbornness gets in her way!  She swims beautifully when she actually puts her face in the water and uses "long arms", but usually she has her head sticking out and spends so much energy keeping it up and flapping her arms!  We tell her and tell her, but she is very hard-headed and determined to do it her way.  So, Gerri and I thought we would push her to the next level to see if that helps.  She now has friends and other swimmers she needs to keep up with.  We weren't too sure if she'd be happy with us, but she loves it!  Hopefully, she'll get out of her head a little, relax, and swim like the graceful swimmer we know she can be!

Conferences

Last month, was conferences at school.  Maggie's teacher had nothing but positive things to say about her.  She is above for her reading level and has a plus in everything else on her gradecard, too.  She said she is a very creative, "out of the box" thinker, which is so true.  Her wheels are always turning and she is always thinking of what her next question will be!  Mrs. McWilliams said Maggie is always thinking of other ways they could do things and is quick to offer her suggestions.  Mrs. McWilliams also said they are usually pretty good suggestions, too! :)  Hopefully she will always have an understanding teacher that appreciates her quirks as much as we do!
