Christmas Day

Maggie actually slept in until almost 8:00 today since we stayed up late to do the scavenger hunt and watch the movie last night.  We opened presents and stockings first thing this morning.  After that we headed to church and came back for a breakfast of eggnog french toast.  Maggie has already tried on her swimsuit and cap, painted her nails, ate her candy, read some of her books, and told us some jokes!  Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Eve

Tonight, we started a new tradition with Maggie.  We gave her a present tonight that had new pj's, some hot chocolate, some popcorn, a new movie (ET), and a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt.  After she changed into her pj's and made her hot chocolate, we hopped in the car and set off on the scavenger hunt.  We drove around Paola trying to find all different kinds of Christmas lights.  Once we got home, we watched the movie and ate popcorn.  We thought this would be a fun tradition to start doing every year!

On Monday, we celebrated Christmas with my parents and brother.  We had a wonderful time spending the day together, opening presents, and of course, eating delicious food!  Here are some pics:

First Reconciliation

Maggie had her First Reconciliation today!  Rob's parents, my dad, and my brother came down for it.  My mom, unfortunately, was too sick to make it.  Maggie was pretty nervous to talk to the priest about her sins, but she said it went okay when she was done.  After we all went to confession, they had a soup dinner in the church basement for the families.  It was nice to spend time with everyone that came and a very special day in Maggie's continuing religious education.

2nd Grade Music Program

Tonight was Maggie's 2nd grade music program and it was absolutely adorable!  They sang Christmas songs and had the audience even stand and join in for 2 of them!  I have a special bond with this group of kids and they will always hold a special place in my heart.  I can't wait for Maggie to continue to grow with such a great group of kids!!

Field Trip to Kaleidoscope

Last week, all the 2nd graders took a field trip to Kaleidoscope.  Maggie couldn't wait to tell Rob and I all about it and show us all the cool things she got to make!  We didn't go along on this field trip, but were lucky enough to have a friend of ours that did and sent us these pictures:

 

Halloween

Maggie decided she wanted to be a baby for Halloween this year.  She was a pretty cute baby, too!  She had a great day at our school Halloween Parade, her class party, and then trick-or-treating with Nana and I up in Nana and Papa's neighborhood.  She took in loads of candy and was quite pleased.  She even told us when she was done and had enough candy!  Here are a couple pictures of baby Maggie:
