Manhattan Visit

Rob, Maggie and I drove to Manhattan this weekend to visit his parents and celebrate his birthday.  We hung out together, went out to dinner together, and watched Argo together last night.  Then, today we had brunch and Maggie spent some more time in the snow!  Here are some pictures of her and Nana Karen sledding and playing Fox and Geese:

Snow Day Fun

Well, I think we are at about a foot and a half of snow right now and it's still coming down.  Needless to say, Maggie and I had a snow day today and we have another one tomorrow.  While Rob and I shoveled the driveway this afternoon, Maggie played and loved every minute of it!!

Valentine's Day Party

Rob was able to go to Maggie's Valentine's party last Thursday.  He took some pictures of her playing a game, going through her Valentines, eating some treats, and blowing the bubbles she got in a goody bag!

Cornmeal Mush

Rob used to read the Little House on the Prairie books all the time when he was little, so we started reading them to Maggie and she loves them!  Today, for breakfast, she even wanted to try some cornmeal mush, just like what they had in the book.  She ate the entire bowl and loved every bite!
Don't mind the outfit, she picked it out herself.  Who knew a flowered shirt would match so well with a pastel, plaid skirt?!

Valentine's Box and Cards

Yesterday was spent making Maggie's Valentine's Day box for her party on Thursday.  She chose to do a princess one, so we covered it with pink wrapping paper, attached her pink, feathery boa, and added some bling to it!  She loves the way it turned out and can't wait to use it!  Here is a picture of the finished product:

We also finished her Valentine's Day cards for her class.  We thought the saying was pretty cute to go with a Starburst candy.  Here is a picture of them:

New Prayer Shawl and Scarf

When Maggie was little and going through all of her medical issues, my Aunt Kate had a prayer shawl made for her.  All of the Gadlage side of the family (my mom's side), got together and said a prayer as we all held onto the yarn.  Then, we sent the yarn off to be made into the shawl.  Maggie was attached to her "little blankie" as she called it from day one.  It went everywhere with her, she slept with it, etc.

She was absolutely devastated when she lost it about a year ago.  My mom knitted her a new one in the same color and she loves it.  Before my aunt passed away, she arranged to have another one made for Maggie, too.  Maggie jumped at the opportunity to have another one.  Well, it came in the mail yesterday and she was absolutely ecstatic!  It's a larger sized one, so we decided she should call it "big blankie" since she calls the one my mom made for her "little blankie".  Here she is cuddled up with her "big blankie" and the scarf they made for her:

Rollerskating

Maggie got to rollerskate in PE class yesterday.  This is the second time this year and the kids absolutely love it!  Instead of 2 half hour classes, they get 1 full hour to skate that week.  Here are some pics of the pro skater:
