100th Day of School

Today was the 100th day of school at Cottonwood!  Maggie created a 100th day project by making a ladybug with 100 spots, did lots of 100th day activities, and even dressed up as what she would look like at 100 years old.  Here are some pics from the day:

Mystery Reader

Maggie's teacher started something new this year called Mystery Reader.  Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, or any family member of a student in the class can sign up to come in and be a Mystery Reader.  You send in 5 clues to help the students figure out who is there to read, starting from general clues to the most specific.  The kids try to guess who is there to be a Mystery Reader for the class and then get to be detectives to figure out if they are right.  I waited in the office until Maggie came with her detective hat and magnifying glass to see if the class guessed right, or not.  She took me back to class and I got to read a special book of my choice to the class.  Here are some pictures:

Maggie's Christmas Party

Our school parties got rescheduled for after Christmas because we had a snow day on the day they were originally scheduled for.  Maggie and her classmates had a great time decorating Mrs. Cole up like a snowman with toilet paper and other materials.  Then, they had treats including a snowman cupcake.
