Here We Grow Again

Maggie and I went shopping last night! Every year there is a huge children's sale called Here We Grow Again. They sell all kinds of used children's items. I was able to get quite the haul of clothing...10 shirts, 5 pairs of capris, 8 pairs of shorts, and 5 pajama sets...for less than $100!!!! I'm not sure if Maggie was more excited about all the clothes we got, or getting to try all of them on after we got home!!

Spring Break

Maggie and I started our Spring Break last Friday (I only had a 1/2 day of work and she doesn't have school on Fridays). We went out to lunch with Nana and Papa and spent the entire day outside from 9 in the morning until 8 at night!!

We played out all afternooon on Saturday, too. Luckily, we played outside all weekend because it has rained this entire week!!

Then, Sunday, we went up to my parent's house to spend the day. Maggie, mom, and I were able to get some birthday party shopping done for Maggie.

On Tuesday, we went over to a friend's house and met up with another friend of ours that lives out of town. All of our kids had a great time playing and we got some great girl talk time! The kids even got to play outside a little bit in between the rain. They jumped on the trampoline, played on the swingset, road bikes, and splashed in the water. Maggie splashed so much, she needed to change clothes because she was drenched!!

On Wednesday, we went to lunch and to see The Lorax with Uncle Brett, Papa, DJ, and Izzy.

Yesterday, Rob was off so we spent the day hanging out at home having some family time. Maggie was able to play outside for about an hour yesterday morning before the rain started again. Here's a picture of that (you can see she's is prepared for the rain to start at anytime):

Today, Maggie is going to have dinner with my parents because I'm going out to dinner with some old friends.

Then, tomorrow, we are headed to our old stomping grounds, Emporia. Rob was able to get the day off, so we could go down and visit one of our friends there. Tomorrow night, we are going to spend the night at a hotel, which is always a highlight for Maggie.

No plans set for Sunday. We'll probably do nothing and enjoy our last day of break before we go back to school on Monday!!

Although it's rained this entire week, we definitely made up for it with all the fun activities we have done/will do! Plus, this weekend is supposed to be absolutely beautiful out!

School Update

First off, 2 funnies from school:
1. Maggie's preschool teacher, Ms. Suzy, is a huge K-State fan (along with Rob). So, when Rob dropped Maggie off at school yesterday afternoon, the first words out of Maggie's mouth to Ms. Suzy were "K-State is winning their basketball game". Needless to say, both Rob and Ms. Suzy were pretty excited that they ended up winning! Hello March Madness!!

2. The theme in Maggie's class this week was farm, so they read a farm book in Library class. In the book, it talked about manure. Leave it to Maggie to be the one kid in class to raise her hand and ask what manure is. Mrs. Banks simply explained that it was when animals go to the bathroom and that some farmers use it for their crops. The kids all thought that was pretty gross and must not have wanted to hear anymore because the topic quickly changed!

On another note, Maggie got a Spring Progress Report sent home yesterday. She got a plus in everything for Routine, Social/Play, Cognitive, Communication, and Group Activities. Also, Ms. Suzy wrote that she is doing well and has many great skills that will help her transition to kindergarten. Very proud of her and even a little emotional over the fact that she is almost done with preschool and going to be in kindergarten already!!!
