Maggie had her last Parents as Teachers visit last night. Callie was trying to complete a 3 year screening on Maggie, but she wasn't very interested in cooperating! She was way more interested in all the puzzles, books, toys, and games Callie brought in her bag! Maggie kept reaching in, or going over to the bag wanting to know what else was in there. Although it took some time, Maggie would eventually give Callie the answers she was looking for. All in all, Maggie is right where she needs to be, or above, on each item. The only slight concern was her speech and how it's not always understood from someone unfamiliar with Maggie, but Callie seemed confident that Maggie would be fine and take off quickly now that she's in speech twice a week.
Speaking of speech, Maggie completed her first week of it this week. She goes on Monday and Wednesday mornings for 30 minutes each time. Miss Megan says she's doing really well. I've already seen a vast improvement in Maggie using the s and f in her beginning sounds (ie. fish used to be pronounced pish and snake used to be pronounced nake) now! We are definitely more consistent at home with her, repeating words correctly for her to hear, making her correct herself, and praising her when she says it correctly. I've even noticed she is to the point of saying it correctly on her own, without having to be prompted by us. She will continue with speech until the end of the school year in May. Then, we will reevaluate whether or not to continue speech services once school starts back up again in August.

3 Year Check-up
Maggie had her 3 year check-up yesterday and everything looks good. She is 26 pounds (10th percentile) and almost 3 feet tall (20th percentile). She didn't have to get any immunizations since she's up to date on all of them, and won't have to get anymore until she goes to kindergarten. Dr. Crifasi wanted a urine sample, too, to double check everything was working okay. Well, that was an experience for Rob...and Maggie! It took her 2 tries to pee in the cup because the first time of 2 dribbles wasn't quite enough of a sample!! :) After throwing a fit on the toilet when Rob told her to try again, they gave up and tried a little later, with success. All checked out there, too. Rob said Maggie's favorite part was getting to wear the "paper dress" for the examination!! She didn't want to give it up either!

Nikki's Wedding
We went up to Omaha for my cousin Nikki's wedding this weekend. We had a great time getting to see a lot of the Jacobs side, too! Highlights for Maggie: getting to swim in the hotel pool, getting doted on by lots of family members, and becoming a true dancing queen at the wedding reception! We could not get her off the dance floor last night! She danced with me, Papa, Isabele, Aunt Ana, Uncle Brett, Great Aunt Ann, lots of kids, and even all by herself!
Congratulations Nikki and Greg!!

Maggie's 3rd Birthday Party
We had Maggie's birthday party this weekend. It couldn't have been a better party either! We did a picnic at Wallace Park with hot dogs, brats and other picnic foods. Lots of family came, too! The weather was beautiful enough out that we were able to take the kids out to play and Maggie even got to get some practice in on her new bike!

Pedicures all around!
This afternoon, Maggie and I painted our toenails together. This was the first time for her and she absolutely loved it! I did of course have to touch-up some since she didn't quite understand why she shouldn't be moving around for a few minutes, but she was excited that her feet looked so pretty!!
Easter
We celebrated Easter yesterday with my family. Maggie and I went shopping with Nana Linda and Aunt Ana during the afternoon, before heading to my parents for great food and a great time spent with family!
Today, Rob, Maggie and I went to Easter Sunday Mass together. She went to Children's Church (the children go downstairs and do activities during part of the mass) for the first time and she went without Rob or I! She stayed the whole time and never got upset. Rob and I were so proud!!
Here are some Easter pictures:
