Gum

When Maggie and I went to Wal-Mart today, I bought some gum since I know she likes it and does really well not swallowing it. Well, after she woke up from her nap today, she wanted a piece. When I was upstairs putting away her laundry, I noticed it suddenly got very quiet downstairs where she still was. So, I called out to her and she didn't answer. I called out to her again and she came upstairs with her hands over her mouth. I asked her what she had and she opened her mouth to show me a piece of gum she had taken. I then made her spit it out, which of course started the waterworks! When we went downstairs the rest of the gum package was nowhere to be found. I asked Maggie where it was and she led me into the kitchen, to one of the cabinets. She had hidden the gum package on the very bottom shelf, behind some of the other items! Seriously, she is too young to figure that kind of stuff out already, right?! Needless to say, she did not get anymore gum today. I guess I should be happy she was honest about having a piece and showing me where she put the evidence!

Ultrasound/Hemonc. Appt.

We had a little scare yesterday with Maggie's ultrasound results. The radiologist felt her liver looked enlarged. Dr. Lewing, her hemonc. doctor, said that clinically her liver felt the same size, but that she wanted to compare this ultrasound with her MRI from this past summer. She also wanted to discuss the results with the GI doctor, take labs, and see what the results of those were.

They called us this morning and said all of Maggie's labs showed her liver functioning to be normal. They felt comfortable having Maggie come back in 6 more months for a follow-up MRI. If this MRI goes okay, Maggie will be completely done with ultrasounds, MRIs, and hemonc. clinic appts.!!

Thank you for all your prayers for Maggie. Once again they have seen us through another trial and left us with positive results!

Hanging out at Nana and Papa's

Sunday night Rob and I got to enjoy a night out together, just the 2 of us. We went to a movie and Maggie went to spend the night at Nana and Papa's house. Here are some pictures Nana took from Maggie's visit.

Maggie likes to go shopping in Nana and Papa's kitchen. Well, as you can tell from the pictures, she literally climbed into the pantry to get her items!

Meet Maggie...The Southern Version

For the past couple weeks, Maggie has begun to add another syllable and a southern twang to some of her words. Who knows where she picked this up?!

Smith Family Christmas

Well, since we didn't make it back to Marysville for Christmas because of the weather, we headed up there this past weekend instead. The weather was still not the best, but at least we were able to get there and back safely! We had a great time! Maggie loved seeing Nana Karen, Papa Bob, Aunt Jen, Uncle Wyatt, Nathan, Uncle Jim, and Great Grandpa Smith. She also loved seeing the guinea pigs, doggy, and cats, too! Probably the biggest hit of the whole trip was the cleaning cart full of every possible cleaning item you can imagine. Nana Karen and Papa Bob got Maggie this gift for Christmas since she absolutely loves to clean. Nathan and Maggie played with this thing the entire weekend!!!

Here is a picture of the professional cleaners in action:
